Resetting the chipmunk trap

My previous approach has been to keep reloading the trap with peanut butter until a) the trap triggered and the chipmunk was captured, or b) the chipmunk became too fat to back out of the trap, thus also becoming trapped.
This approach has not been working. The little buggers must be going to Weight Watchers on the side...
So, got a new (and supposedly better) trap - actually called a chipmunk trap, and so far the results have been the same, declining peanut butter volumes. BUT, I have now reset the trap with a "hair trigger" - if he gets the peanut butter this time, there's something unnatural about that chipmunk - more like a ghostmunk or a chiparition. More to follow...
